Matt Mikel

As a JAK + Co. partner with a focus on taxes, Matt advises small to mid-size businesses on their accounting and taxes. He also works with individual tax clients and facilitates tax planning.

Matt will be the first to tell you his role as a CPA goes beyond tax and accounting. He loves being able to help business owners through complicated situations, especially when they don’t know where to start. Known for his responsiveness and gift for simplifying the complex, Matt’s number one goal is to make his clients’ lives easier.

A self-professed “numbers guy,” Matt first came to accounting by working at his aunt’s CPA firm after college. He joined JAK + Co. in 2014 and became a partner in 2024. Matt is grateful to work with a group of dedicated people who are passionate about helping others.

Outside of JAK + Co., Matt is all about his kids. He volunteers as a coach for their baseball teams, breaks out the pontoon for lake days in the summer, and takes them hunting and fishing (a.k.a. untangling fishing lines) whenever possible. He and his wife cherish their family vacations.
